RIYADH - After tomorrow, Sunday, Muharram 21, 1443 AH, corresponding to August 29, 2021 AD, male and female students in the intermediate and secondary stages will return to the classroom in attendance at public, private and foreign public education schools, for those aged 12 years and over, who were immunized with two doses of the Corona vaccine, with the application of all Precautionary measures and health protocols approved by the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), to ensure the safety of students, their families and society.

The Ministry of Education approved the supervisory and school operational manuals and models for the academic year 1443 AH, which stipulated the start of remote study until October 30, 2021 or reaching the required societal immunity (70%) for the kindergarten and primary stages.

The Ministry of Education announced the completion of all preparations for the start of the new academic year, preparing the educational community by providing the requirements of the educational process in all schools, strengthening the roles of supervisors and teachers, training more than (331) thousand teachers during the summer vacation, as well as providing and distributing more than 71 million books. For students, according to the precautionary measures followed inside the school, the readiness of the “My School” and “Rawdati” platforms and the provision of appropriate e-learning tools for each stage of study, in addition to the preparation of 30,000 school buses to transport 1.2 million students in 21,000 schools. The Ministry carried out maintenance, operation, cleaning and sterilization work to ensure the readiness of schools, in addition to providing all requirements for implementing precautionary measures in schools in all education departments, with more than one billion riyals; With the aim of creating the educational environment inside schools and making it an appropriate, appropriate and attractive place for a safe attendance, ensuring the quality of educational products, and achieving safety and health standards.

On Sunday, students will begin an exceptional academic year in studying new curricula for international series, where (34) new curricula have been prepared, (89) existing curricula have been developed, and nearly (120,000) modifications have been completed in the content of curricula during the past two years, in addition to applying The common first year of high school, as well as the study of the first semester within the three-semester system according to the new academic plans and calendar applied by the Ministry of Education and includes 39 academic weeks across three semesters; To compensate for the educational gap between the years of the educational ladder and the actual years of study during the educational journey, and to keep students in continuous and effective processes of constructive education for their knowledge and refine their skills while reducing long interruptions, and to focus on preparing students at all educational levels to possess the elements of a knowledge economy, and linking skills and abilities with actual needs for the labor market.

The Ministry of Education set a package of general controls in the new academic year, and obligated students to apply the updated rules of behavior and attendance for students in the intermediate and secondary levels approved by the Ministry, with the exclusion of classroom and non-classroom activities that do not achieve distancing, canceling morning queues, and stopping work in canteens or cafeterias, in addition to Adherence to temperature checks, making sure to wear a mask, regulating entry and exit to prevent crowding, rearranging classes to ensure spacing, as well as preventing the exchange of special tools between students.
