Saudi Arabia expresses its hope that the situation in Afghanistan will be stable
Geneva - The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed that it is following with interest the current events in the sisterly Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom in Geneva, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, expressed, in a speech before the emergency session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Kingdom’s hope for the stability of the situation in Afghanistan as soon as possible, and for the Taliban movement and all Afghan parties to work to preserve security, stability, lives and property and to work to advance the interest The Afghan people renounce violence and establish lasting peace in order to achieve the aspirations of the Afghan people and their hopes for stability and a decent life.
Al-Wasel affirmed that the Kingdom supports efforts to establish peace in a way that enhances protection and respect for human rights.
He pointed out that the Kingdom affirms its support for the brotherly Afghan people and their choices that they decide on their own without interference from anyone.
