The next Iranian regime's foreign minister is preparing to make terrorism a mainstay of Iranian diplomacy. According to Fars News Agency, the news website of the IRGC, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who was nominated for the position of chief diplomat Ibrahim Raisi, told members of the Majlis (Parliament) that he "will continue the path of Qassem Soleimani in his foreign policy.

Qassem Soleimani was the commander of the Quds Force, the IRGC's external arm. Soleimani was responsible for the regime's terrorist activities abroad. He has directed terrorist proxy groups for the regime in countries in the region, including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. Soleimani has been designated a terrorist by the United States for his role in launching attacks on American forces in Iraq and supporting terrorist groups. Soleimani was killed in a drone strike in January 2020 while on a secret trip to Iraq.

Abdullahian made the remarks at a meeting between members of the Shura Council's Culture Committee and candidates for the ministries of foreign affairs, interior and health. At the meeting, Amir Abdollahian said much of his experience was during the period when he "cooperated with Soleimani in the field of foreign policy" and promised to "continue Soleimani's path."
