The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing approves the advertising scheme of the Eastern Municipality

Beth: His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, launched the advertising scheme for the metropolis of Dammam, Al-Khobar and Dhahran, as part of the strategy for developing outdoor advertising within Saudi cities issued by the decision of the Council of Ministers, which included the preparation of an advertising scheme for each municipality commensurate with the city's identity and economy.

For his part, His Excellency the Mayor of the Eastern Region, Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, stated that the advertising scheme is an extension of the Municipality’s efforts to develop the investment system in the region, in cooperation with the Eastern Region Development Authority, to enhance the Municipality’s efforts in achieving a number of main objectives, which include: improving the urban landscape and implementing The concept of smart cities and achieving financial sustainability by investing the various resources of the Municipality, noting that the advertising plan took into account a number of important aspects, such as unifying the visual identity of the billboards in proportion to the urban identity of the region, and determining the appropriate numbers of billboards to ensure that no visual pollution is caused by the accumulation of billboards. Advertising in some intersections, by enabling new advertising segments such as advertisements on building facades, public taxis and buses, advertising packaging for buildings under construction, advertisements on white lands, and identifying digital areas to turn them into major landmarks of the city in the future, with appropriate numbers of billboards that add a dimension It is aesthetically pleasing to the city and prevents it from spreading indiscriminately in the roads and streets. 

 

He added: The secretariat's advertising scheme will present 13 investment opportunities in the field of outdoor advertising for a variety of advertising means to be launched during the near period, as the secretariat aims to familiarize investors with its plans and strategies to ensure an attractive investment environment for pumping quality investments in the region.

His Excellency stressed that the secretariat will periodically work in accordance with the strategy of developing outdoor advertising within cities to develop and update the advertising scheme to ensure that it keeps pace with developments in the outdoor advertising sector on an ongoing basis, by increasing the participation of the private sector and raising the efficiency of managing the outdoor advertising portfolio.

He revealed that the new advertising scheme for the eastern region included the allocation of 1,007 billboards, while the number of advertisements on buses and taxis will reach 1,000 advertisements, in addition to the number of billboards for the new segments amounting to 30 billboards, while two digital areas will be allocated, as well as the inclusion of elements of smart cities in all advertising media. And the design of an advertising identity for the city that is reflected on the designs of billboards.
