Saudi Arabia .. The discovery of antiquities dating back 7,000 years in a cave north of Medina
The Heritage Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced today that archaeologists and fossils from the authority, in cooperation with the Saudi Geological Survey, King Saud University, and the German Max Planck Institute, have made a new discovery in the Umm Jarsan Cave in Bahra Khaybar (170 km north of Medina, around which it will be published). Inside Umm Jarsan Cave, remnants of traces and fossils were found, which radiocarbon technology revealed to be more than 7000 years old. All of them are in good condition despite the passage of time, as well as human skulls, which are likely to have been exhumed from nearby prehistoric tombs.
During this period, the research team examines the bones for DNA, while the history of grazing in the Arabian Peninsula and the domestication of animals are being studied there.
