The body of British Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, will be buried today, Saturday, in the Royal Cemetery at Windsor Palace.

At 14.40 GMT, Prince Philip’s coffin is transferred from the palace to St. George’s Church in Windsor to pray over it, in the presence of only members of the royal family and Prince Philip’s personal secretary, headed by Queen Elizabeth.

At 15:00, throughout the United Kingdom, she announces a minute of silence.

Following the funeral ceremony, Prince Philip will be buried in the crypt of the royal family.

Buckingham Palace announced that, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was forced to impose restrictions on the number of attendees at the funeral ceremonies and to significantly reduce the number of guests, from 800 to 30 people only.

This small group will include representatives from all branches of the Prince Philip family.

It will end with the burial of Prince Philip of national mourning, which was announced following the death of the Queen’s husband on April 9, at the age of 100.

The royal family published on its official Twitter account a memorial video of Prince Philip accompanied by a memorial poem written by British court poet Simon Armitage.
