His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Tamimi, explained that the experience embodies the Kingdom’s leadership in adopting wireless communication technologies and what it represents as an attractive location for investment in emerging and future technologies. He pointed out that the regulatory maturity of the telecommunications sector contributed to making the Kingdom a suitable location for international companies to conduct their qualitative experiments, as the authority completed the experiment in the Red Sea project area in partnership with the British "Stratospheric Platforms Limited" company, noting that the new technology takes into account the economic, service, health and environmental aspects; As it relies in its operational operations on clean and environmentally friendly energy in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to reduce carbon emissions and build environmentally friendly cities and communities, in addition to its innovative and effective solutions to establish air platforms that serve as communication towers covering remote areas around the world, and its contribution to Overcoming one of the most important global challenges in ensuring service continuity, and the delivery of communications and information technology services to all parts of the world, in addition to its contribution to supporting innovative technologies and Internet of Things services, and providing effective solutions in covering seasonal events and festivals.
Al-Tamimi also praised the distinguished cooperation of the various partners who contributed to conducting the experiment in the Kingdom, pointing to the position it occupies globally in allocating the frequency spectrum for communications and information technology services; Which prepared its infrastructure to keep pace with and adopt the latest global technologies, and made it a fertile environment for conducting experiments, launching innovative services and solutions, and investing in its modern technologies.
