Dammam - Beth: The Eastern Region Development Authority has prepared a comprehensive action plan to preserve the historical neighborhoods, starting with Al-Kut neighborhood in the historical center of Hofuf, due to its importance and its direct connection with the objectives of the comprehensive development of the region, and because of its high civilizational and historical importance, and close social and cultural connection, within the role of The authority supervises the rehabilitation and improvement of historical neighborhoods, and the treatment of slums, its development and upgrading in urban, social, economic, security and environmental terms.

The Kut neighborhood development plan, in cooperation with the Al-Ahsa Municipality, includes setting supporting controls for the protection, maintenance and restoration of the neighborhood, and launching qualitative initiatives and projects to develop it.

The CEO of the authority, Eng. Fahd Al-Mutlaq, stressed the importance of preserving the historical neighborhoods, as they represent a legacy that characterizes the eastern region in general and the city of Al-Ahsa in particular, pointing to the authority’s role in preserving these neighborhoods and developing them urban, social and economically, in order to be a tourist destination.
