Maryam Rajavi: The West is required to assume its responsibilities towards the Iranian people
Beth: Iranian President-elect Maryam Rajavi called on Western governments to assume their responsibilities towards the Iranian people and their right to freedom and democracy, and to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its crimes and its supportive role for terrorism and extremism.
During her speech at the annual conference of the parliamentary groups of the Friends of a Free Iran, which was held on February 9, 2022, with the participation of representatives of the European Parliament and the parliaments of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Romania and the Nordic countries, on Wednesday evening, Maryam Rajavi called for an end to the silence and indifference of Western governments towards these crimes and the inclusion of the IRGC and the Ministry of Defense. Iranian intelligence is on the list of terrorist entities.
During the conference, which was held via the Internet, she urged the expulsion of the Iranian regime's mercenaries and their agents from Europe and the withdrawal of their nationalities and passports, such as the terrorists and agents sentenced to prison, recognition of the massacre committed by the mullahs' regime against political prisoners in 1988 as a crime of genocide and a crime against humanity and condemnation by parliaments and governments, and recognition The Iranian people's struggle aimed at overthrowing the regime and establishing democracy and people's rule.
When diagnosing the political situation in Iran, Rajavi said that the presence of President Ibrahim Raisi in his position is the biggest indication that the regime is about to fall.
She explained that Raisi's presence means that the regime is so politically unstable and fragile that it does not allow even its most loyal members, such as Ali Larijani, to run in presidential elections despite his 12-year presidency of the Shura Council.
She added that Khamenei fears that the presence of elements such as Larijani at the helm of power - during future political turmoil - will lead to a fatal schism at the head of the authority, while Raisi, who was involved in the bloodshed of thirty thousand political prisoners of the Mujahideen Khalq, finds no place in the political arena but to adhere to the Wali al-Faqih.
She stated that Khamenei's selection of a president means closing the roads to change and reform, whether in the political or economic fields, escalating repression and inciting wars and terrorism, and continuing with nuclear and missile projects.
She stated that the regime cannot detect the timing of the start of the upcoming protests, which leads it to maintain a state of alert and keep the guard forces and other security and intelligence services in a state of alert and constant tension, because if they are a little late in facing the protests, they lose control of the situation.
She stressed that the mullahs' regime is powerless in the face of this situation, and its impotence is primarily due to the fact that it is facing a people in a state of enmity with the regime.
In her reading of the internal situation, she stated that Khamenei tried and tried all possible means to prevent the regime from reaching such a dangerous situation, noting that the use of fake reformist currents within the regime was one of the ways, where the mullahs and gangs that pretended for many years to be moderate and reform played a buffer role to prevent the regime’s fall. But after the start of the uprisings stage in December 2017, they lost their political effectiveness, which led Khamenei to expel them and remove them from all positions.
She said that the uprisings that took place throughout Iran since December 2017, proved that there is no place for the mullahs' regime among the poor and the deprived, who have become the basis for the uprising and rebellion against the regime.
She stressed the Iranian regime's adherence to nuclear arms, noting that its agreement with the 5+1 group provided it with political and financial needs, but it did not abandon the project of owning the atomic bomb, as it saw itself in need of a bomb to maintain its dilapidated survival, while abandoning the atomic bomb meant abandoning the atomic bomb. about its security requirements.
She pointed out that the mullahs' regime is facing uprisings in which the People's Mojahedin Organization and the resistance units play a major role, whether it abandons the nuclear program or goes to acquire a nuclear bomb.
When reviewing the economic situation in Iran, Rajavi said that the current government is the weakest in Iran in four decades, as the economic situation deteriorated during this period more than it was during the rule of Rouhani, the budget deficit is 50%, economic growth this year is less than zero as in the years In the past, the inflation rate has reached between 50 and 60%, poverty is widespread, the largest part of the middle class has become poor, and at least 40 million of the country's 85 million people live below the absolute poverty line..
Regarding the role of the Iranian resistance, Rajavi said that it has been standing up to dictatorship for 43 years.
She stated that the mullahs put their war against the resistance on top of their priorities, referring to the Iranian official media's announcement of Raisi's demand in his last telephone conversation with the French President to expel the Mujahideen Khalq from the European Union, which Rouhani did in a similar conversation one day after the major uprising in December 2017.
She also touched upon the regime's attempt to detonate a truck full of explosives next to the site of a celebration of the resistance and its planning to carry out another terrorist attack led by a diplomat working in Austria, which indicates its sense of danger because of the existence of resistance and a democratic alternative that transforms the great discontent in Iranian society into a purposeful struggle to overthrow the regime.
In this context, Rajavi referred to the network of Mojahedin-e-Khalq elements inside Iran, which has taken an organized nature in most of the country's provinces, posing a real threat to the mullahs' rule.
She explained that the resistance units that are part of the MEK network in Iranian cities engage in a large-scale campaign against the atmosphere of repression on a daily basis and work to prepare and direct society for the upcoming uprisings.
She criticized the Western media for ignoring the activities of the resistance units, which reflect the reality of the great struggles of Iranian society.
She paused at the memory of the revolution that overthrew the Shah's regime, saying that it was the Shah's suppression of national, democratic and revolutionary movements that opened the way for Khomeini, who according to resistance leader Massoud Rajavi was the real crown prince of the Shah.
She stressed that the resistance founded by the leader of the resistance Massoud Rajavi since Khomeini came to power has worked to defend the values of freedom, to establish successive campaigns to defend the honor and freedom of Iran and Iranians, to train a generation of pioneers, and to build a democratic alternative in the face of religious tyranny.
A member of the French National Assembly, Michel de Koller, gave a speech in which she said that parliamentarians from all over the world are looking forward to the day when the Iranian people live in a country committed to implementing the law.
