G20 finance ministers affirm financial stability (joint statement)

The closing statement of the G20 finance ministers meeting stressed the need to ensure financial stability.

An extraordinary meeting of G20 finance ministers will be held in November, prior to the Presidents’ Summit.

And the finance ministers approved the extension of the debt freeze for the poorest countries for six months.

Today, Wednesday, the finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 began a virtual meeting chaired by Saudi Arabia and discussed the prospects for the global economy and the negative risks surrounding it, as well as updates on the group’s action plan to confront the Corona pandemic.
