Ukrainian scientists have discovered in the "Chernobyl" radiation ecological reserve a rare species of butterflies whose size can be compared to that of a bird.
This was reported by the reserve’s employees on her Facebook account.
Scientists saw the blue striped Catocala fraxini as they entered the reserve area.
Experts said it is one of the largest species of butterflies in Ukraine and Europe in general, as it can have a wingspan of 110 mm.
