NEOM - The Council of Ministers held its session today - via video call - headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, may God protect him.
At the beginning of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Council on the entirety of the consultations and talks that took place during the past days, between the Kingdom and a number of brotherly and friendly countries, and what they included in dealing with regional and international relations and developments, welcoming the Green Middle East initiative and working to achieve its environmental goals In the region and in the world.
The Cabinet stressed the complete stand and full solidarity on the side of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and what the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God support him - confirmed during his phone call with his brother His Majesty the King of Jordan, of full support for all the decisions and measures taken by His Majesty and His Highness the Crown Prince, in terms of decisions and measures to preserve Jordan’s security. The Council also noted the results of the official talks conducted by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect him - and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, and the confirmation of the determination to continue and deepen aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries. The Council stressed the support of all international efforts to restore stability and peace to Syria and its brotherly people, and the Kingdom’s affirmation at the Fifth Brussels Conference in Support of the Future of Syria and the Region, demanding an end to Iran’s sectarian project that contributes to prolonging the crisis and complicating it, leaving it and all the forces affiliated with it, and stopping Its criminal practices aimed at changing its Arab identity, and the importance of fighting terrorist organizations in all their forms.
The Council of Ministers considered the Kingdom’s grant of new oil derivatives to operate power stations in the governorates of the Republic of Yemen, as a continuation of its support and standing with Yemen and its government, alleviating the suffering of its brotherly people, and its efforts to achieve lasting peace, and establish security and stability in it.
On the domestic issue, His Excellency Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi indicated that the Council touched on the unprecedented and continuous historical development process in all sectors and regions in the Kingdom, appreciating in this regard the launch of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the (partner) program that establishes a new phase of cooperation and partnership between the two sectors. Government and private; To develop the contribution to the sustainable growth of the national economy, and to accelerate the achievement of the strategic objectives of increasing the resilience of the economy and supporting prosperity as a national priority for the Kingdom, as an enabling country for business and its supportive environment, through proactive, innovative, smart and unique steps in the region, aimed at developing local investments in the coming years.
The Council of Ministers reviewed the preparations and arrangements from the authorities concerned with serving the pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques, to implement their security, preventive, organizational and service plans during the blessed month of Ramadan, according to an integrated work system that provides the guests of the Most Merciful with all means of comfort, and more facilitation to perform their rituals in a safe and healthy atmosphere, in an atmosphere Of peace and tranquility, and the best level of services and facilities, and the highest safety measures and safety measures.
The Council followed up the developments of the Corona pandemic at the local and international levels, and the developments of the epidemiological situation, in light of what was recorded by relevant statistics and indicators, and the efforts taken by the concerned authorities to maintain public health and limit the spread of the virus, stressing the need to continue adhering to the precautionary measures and adhering to them.
The Council of Ministers reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying, as well as the findings of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council of Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Council of Ministers in this regard.
The council concluded the following:
Firstly:
Authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy - or his representative - to negotiate with the Singaporean side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Republic of Singapore in the field of energy, sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures .
Secondly:
Approval of a headquarters agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Union of Arab Banks regarding the regional office of the union.
Third:
Approval of the guiding model for the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation and news exchange between the Saudi Press Agency and its counterpart news agencies in other countries, and authorizing the Minister of Information, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Press Agency - or his representative - to negotiate with the counterpart news agencies in other countries regarding the draft Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation. And the exchange of news between the Saudi Press Agency and its counterpart news agencies in other countries, signing it, and then submitting the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.
Fourthly:
Approval of the accession of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the 2014 Protocol supplementing the Convention No. (29) of 1930 AD related to forced labor.
Fifthly:
Approval of rules for monitoring state real estate and removing infringements.
Sixthly:
Approval of the establishment of a center named (Center for the Regulation of Heavy Equipment), in accordance with the regulatory arrangements accompanying the decision.
Seventh:
Approval - in principle - of the (Tourism Community) initiative, and authorization of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism - or whoever deputizes for him - in coordination with the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary measures to establish a trust fund for the initiative with the World Bank and the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Eighth:
Approval of the license for Banque Misr to open a branch in the Kingdom.
Ninth:
Approval of the organizational regulations for the role of minors.
Tenth:
Approval of the National Policy for the Prevention of Child Labor, and the National Action Plan for the Prevention of Child Labor, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
eleven:
