The president of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Hassan bin moajib Al-hawizi, revealed a comprehensive development project for the work of Saudi foreign business councils, including several axes, the most important of which is to raise their number to 70 business councils, with an increase of 30 new councils to enhance the kingdom's trade and investment relations with more than 124 countries around the world.
This came during his meeting with the heads of Saudi foreign business councils today (Monday) at the headquarters of the federation, in the presence of the deputy governor of the General Authority for foreign trade for private sector Affairs and international representation Fawaz bin Rafa.
The development project aims to activate the role of business councils and their contribution to achieving the goals of the kingdom's Vision 2030, and to establish effective trade and investment partnerships that increase the contribution of the private sector in foreign trade.
The project includes holding quarterly meetings of business councils, attracting large companies and investors, increasing the representation of women, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises in the membership of councils, enhancing sources of financing, providing technical, logistical, informational and human support for their activities and developing effective plans for them according to economic targets with each country.
The interventions and proposals of the heads of business councils focused on the importance of coordination between the councils and the relevant authorities in forums and delegations, strengthening its position as a representative of the Saudi private sector abroad, activating its membership and maximizing its share of government investment agreements, as well as the need to support its work through the executive branch of the Federation, financial empowerment, providing the necessary economic information, working to overcome the challenges it faces in coordination with its counterparts, highlighting the comparative advantages of each country, activating its participation in joint coordination committees and councils with foreign countries, as well as emphasizing the importance of business owners list of councils Works before they were released.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi foreign business councils, currently numbering 40 business councils covering 83 countries, operate under the umbrella of the Federation of Saudi Chambers under the supervision of the General Authority for foreign trade, which represents a gathering of Saudi business owners interested in investing in a particular foreign country with their counterparts from that country, and its forms include bilateral business councils (be with a specific country) and regional business councils (be with a group of countries in one region), working within its activities to introduce the business environment and investment opportunities in the Kingdom and foreign countries, organizing departing and incoming trade delegations, joint economic forums and forums, as well as enabling partnerships Trade, investment, transfer, localization, exchange of experience and advanced technologies.
