The Saudi Film Authority announces its strategy next Sunday
RIYADH - Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Authority, the Film Authority is preparing to announce its strategy to develop the film sector in the Kingdom and support its employees and actors in it, in a ceremony to be held on Sunday, Rabi’ Al-Thani 23 1443 AH corresponding to 28 November 2021 AD at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Riyadh, in the presence of Saudi filmmakers, a number of strategic partners, and a group of media professionals, intellectuals and actors in the sector.
At the ceremony, the authority will reveal the details of its strategy, including initiatives and programs that serve the film sector and work to transform it into an integrated industry, in which local and international film production is active, with advanced infrastructure, “studios” and filming locations, which provide practical and educational opportunities for national cadres in various industry disciplines. the film.
It is noteworthy that the Film Authority is one of 11 cultural bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, which was established in February of the year 2020 by a decision of the Council of Ministers. According to the strategy, the authority will undertake multiple tasks, including managing and regulating the film sector, supporting and empowering filmmakers, developing the production environment, and marketing Saudi business locally and internationally, in addition to motivating institutions and companies to produce and develop content.
