Prince Abdulaziz Al-Faisal meets the President of the International Olympic Committee

Lausanne - His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, met today, Thursday, with the President of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach, at the headquarters of the Committee in the Swiss city of Lausanne, in the presence of His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee Secretary General, and Her Royal Highness Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan, member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, member of the International Olympic Committee, and two members of the Saudi Olympic Board of Directors, Yasser Al-Mishal and Adwa Al-Arifi.

The meeting discussed the intensification of cooperation between the Saudi and international Olympics, and the sports hosts that the Kingdom carried out in the past period, in addition to the relations between the two committees and with the aim of developing sports and the Olympic movement in the Kingdom, in addition to a number of common topics and programmes.

Bach praised the distinguished steps taken by the Saudi sports movement in terms of increasing the number of hosts for international and world championships, the most recent of which was the World Weightlifting Championship and the Super Globe Handball Championship in Jeddah, wishing the continuation of such steps in the near future, and the great participation of the Kingdom. In terms of the number of games in the last Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The delegation accompanying His Highness the President held a number of meetings with the committees working in the International Olympics, and was briefed on the progress of the Olympic work in these committees.
