NEOM - The Council of Ministers held its session today, 22 Ramadan 1442 AH, corresponding to May 4, 2021 AD - via video communication - headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister, may God protect him.

At the beginning of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God protect him - directed praise and thanks to God Almighty, for his blessings and favors over all Muslims around the globe, realizing the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, asking the Lord to accept from them their fasting and resurrection and the good of their deeds. And may God grant this blessed country the success of its honor to serve the Two Holy Mosques and those who visit them, and to do everything it can for the sake of their comfort, security and safety.

Subsequently, the Council of Ministers estimated the contents of the speech of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may God preserve him - in the television meeting, and the comprehensive visions that it contained for a better future for the country and its children, outlined the exceptional achievements, aspirations, aspirations and targets set in (Vision 2030), and the Kingdom's positions and its foreign policy And its effective international role; Aiming at enhancing international security and stability, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the global economy.

In his statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the Minister of Information in charge, stated that the Council was informed of the content of the consultations and talks that took place during the past days, between the Kingdom and a number of brotherly and friendly countries, and what they included in dealing with regional and international relations and developments, and the efforts made to reach To comprehensive political solutions in the region.

The Council of Ministers renewed the Kingdom's condemnation and strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that took place in the state of Luger, and affirmed its support and solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan against terrorism in all its forms and forms, whatever its motives and justifications.

His Excellency indicated that the Council followed the developments of the Corona pandemic, and the latest virus statistics and related indicators, in light of the efforts exerted locally to control the fluctuation in the curve of infections, while the epidemic continues to spread globally and record the highest daily numbers, reaffirming the need for citizens and residents to continue to adhere to the application of preventive measures. And the speed of the initiative to take vaccines to protect them and safety.

The Council of Ministers reviewed the topics on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council participated in studying, as well as the findings of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Council of Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Council of Ministers in this regard.

The council concluded the following:

First:

Authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior - or his representative - to discuss a draft memorandum of understanding in the fields of education, training, scientific research and community service between the General Directorate of Border Guards at the Ministry of Interior (Jeddah Academy for Science and Maritime Security Studies) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport Affiliated to the League of Arab States, sign it, and then upload the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.

Second:

Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Advocacy and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Council of Mosques Affairs in the Republic of Liberia in the field of Islamic affairs, and authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Advocacy and Guidance - or his representative - to negotiate with the Liberian side regarding the project and sign it.

Third:

To authorize His Excellency the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises - or his representative - to negotiate with the Indian side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Small Industries Development Bank in the Republic of India in the field of establishments, and to sign it, And then upload the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.

Fourthly:

Approval of the accession of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the International Coral Reef Initiative.

Fifthly:

Approval of a memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Sixthly:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Education - or his representative - to negotiate with the Kuwaiti side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of education between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the State of Kuwait, and to sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the statutory procedures.

Seventh:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Food and Drug General Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Food and Drug Authority in the Republic of Indonesia in the field of control, quality and safety of food and drug products.

Eighth:

Approval of the meteorology system.

Ninth:

Merging the General Authority of Zakat and Income and the General Authority of Customs into one body under the name of (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority), and approval to organize them.

Tenth:

Approval of the license for the National Bank of Iraq to open a branch in the Kingdom.

eleven:

Approval of the final accounts of the Public Pension Agency and the University of Tabuk.

twelfth:

Approval of the regulation of the job search aid.

thirteen:

Approval of promotions to the (fifteenth) and (fourteenth) ranks, and appointments to a position (Minister Plenipotentiary).
