The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture announced the start of the implementation of the executive regulations for substances that deplete the ozone layer and HFCs.

The ministry explained that the regulation applies to all persons and activities related to substances that deplete the ozone layer, HFCs, devices, equipment, and products subject to control in the Kingdom, and aims to define the scope of work of the National Center for the Supervision of Environmental Compliance with regard to the application of what is stipulated in international and regional agreements that The Kingdom is a party to it, preparing lists of controlled materials, devices, equipment, and products in accordance with the Kingdom's regional and international obligations, preparing and monitoring the implementation of plans and procedures for phasing out and replacing materials and alternative equipment in accordance with national interests and in accordance with the provisions of the Montreal Protocol and its amendments, and the organization of operations Import, export, re-export, circulation, manufacture, use, storage and disposal of materials, devices, equipment and products subject to control, preparation of rules, requirements and controls related to dealing with them, setting identification marks, maintenance, preparation of rules, requirements, and controls for permits and licenses related thereto, determination and fulfillment of the consideration Its financial, in addition to the issuance of the licenses H and the related licenses, and coordination with the concerned authorities to enforce the provisions of the regulation, inspect and control violations, and impose penalties.
