Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques presides over the cabinet session
NEOM - The Council of Ministers held its session today, Tuesday, 20 Jumada al-Akhira 1442 AH corresponding to February 02, 2021 AD - via video communication - headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister.
The Council highly valued the efforts made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his management of the development plans in the city of Riyadh, when he was the governor of the region, and what I witnessed during that period of the completion of many infrastructure projects, in the context of the Council addressed the strategy of developing the city of Riyadh, the features of which His Highness revealed Royal Crown Prince, to be one of the ten largest economic cities in the world, as part of the Kingdom's plans to diversify sources of income and grow the economy.
The council touched on the unprecedented investment opportunities the Kingdom is witnessing in light of the (Vision 2030), and the creation of an exceptional investment environment supported by regulatory reforms and attractive to investors, characterized by high efficiency and ease of doing business in the Kingdom and making it more competitive, in order to continue the great leaps it has achieved in the relevant global indicators. Relevance, and to keep pace with the rapid acceleration witnessed in many sectors and businesses, including sustainable investments.
Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, the Minister of Information in charge, stated that the Cabinet reviewed the developments of the Corona pandemic, at the local and international levels, the indicators of the epidemic curve in the Kingdom, the virus statistics, and the precautionary and preventive measures that have been taken to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents, stressing the importance of continuing Adhere to it; To preserve the gains made in addressing the Corona pandemic.
The Council reviewed, on the totality of issues and developments on the regional and international arenas, again what the Kingdom confirmed in its speech to the UN Security Council in its session held under the item (the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue), its commitment to peace as a strategic choice, and its interest and concern for the unity of the Arab territories. Its sovereignty and integrity, and not accepting any prejudice threatening the stability of the region, stressing the Kingdom's steadfast approach and its firm stances towards the Palestinian cause, that it is at the forefront of its priorities and concerns, and its stand with the Palestinian people to reach a just and comprehensive solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
He indicated that the Council of Ministers praised the security efforts in confronting the attempts of organized crime networks to smuggle drugs and psychotropic substances across land and sea borders, and the contribution of the General Directorate of Border Guards in protecting the kingdom's borders from all that targets its security, stability and capabilities, as well as the efforts of the General Customs Authority, after thwarting attempts Tons of khat and hashish, and loads of narcotic pills.
The Council reviewed the topics on its agenda, and the Council of Ministers concluded as follows:
First:
Delegating His Excellency the Minister of Information, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio and Television Corporation - or his representative - to negotiate with the Iraqi side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the radio and television field between the Radio and Television Corporation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Iraqi Media Network in the Republic of Iraq, signing it, and then uploading the copy Signed final, to complete the statutory procedures.
Second:
To authorize His Excellency the Minister of Education - or his representative - to negotiate with the Chinese side in the matter of a draft memorandum of cooperation for teaching the Chinese language between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education in the People's Republic of China, and to sign it, and then raise the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.
Third:
Establishing the National Center for Water Efficiency and Rationalization.
Fourth: Approval of the regulatory list for purebred Arabian horses.
Fifthly:
Establishing a unified national platform called (The Unified National Employment Platform), which includes a database of job seekers in the public and private sectors, according to the questionnaire designed for this.
Sixthly:
Approval of the final account of the General Organization of Railways for a previous fiscal year.
Seventh:
Approval of promotions to the (fifteenth) and (fourteenth) ranks, and appointment to a position (Minister Plenipotentiary).
