The city of Hail is preparing to inaugurate its Central District Development Project tomorrow, Wednesday, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Region.

The project represents a major development initiative aimed at reshaping the city center and transforming it into an urban destination for tourism, entertainment, and commerce.

Implemented by Hail Municipality in partnership with the Quality of Life Program, the project covers more than 750,000 square meters, at an estimated cost of SAR 268 million. It is connected to six major roads and forms part of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Al-Zaidi: A New Urban Transformation

Hail Mayor Engineer Sultan bin Hamed Al-Zaidi emphasized that the project reflects the support provided by the Saudi leadership for development, the close field supervision of the Governor of Hail Region, and the attention of the Minister of Municipalities and Housing.

He explained that the project has delivered integrated infrastructure and urban spaces that have reshaped the city center, enhancing the daily quality of life for families and young people.

He noted that the Central District aims to stimulate commercial activity, create investment opportunities for investors and artisans, and strengthen Hail’s position as a tourist destination combining its historical heritage with its development ambitions.

Green Spaces and Integrated Facilities

The project includes 3,000 trees and more than 30,000 square meters of green spaces, along with 18 kilometers of pathways, comprising 12 kilometers for pedestrians and six kilometers for cyclists.

It also features a 13,000-square-meter open-air theater, interactive fountains covering 12,000 square meters, and 1,500 parking spaces.

The development provides 250,000 square meters for community events and 17 commercial locations, alongside the redevelopment of the Barzan and Samah markets, designated areas for markets and hotels, and modern management, lighting, surveillance, and smart service systems.

Heritage Meets Investment

The project connects historical landmarks, including Qishlah Palace and A'arif Fort, with modern commercial and entertainment facilities, enhancing tourism activity while preserving the city's architectural and cultural identity.

Its inauguration marks an important milestone in Hail Municipality's efforts to develop infrastructure and improve the urban landscape, following successive stages of planning, implementation, and on-site supervision.

BETH Analysis

The project's significance lies not only in its size or cost, but also in redefining the function of central Hail.

Areas previously dedicated to vehicle traffic and traditional markets are being transformed into open spaces for pedestrians, families, social activities, and commercial opportunities.

The project represents a model of integration between urban planning, investment, and heritage preservation. It also highlights the role of Hail Municipality, under the leadership of Engineer Sultan Al-Zaidi, in implementing one of the city's most prominent urban development projects.

Conclusion

Hail is preparing to inaugurate a renewed city center that combines history with modern life, offering residents and visitors expanded public spaces and new economic and tourism opportunities.
