Operation “Dawn of Yemen” entered its 22nd day with a military escalation targeting Houthi missile capabilities and supply lines, after the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced a major operation in Houthi-controlled areas in response to repeated attacks.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki confirmed the destruction of five tunnels used to store ballistic missiles, four launch platforms, and a missile storage facility, in addition to strikes targeting Houthi fortifications, gatherings, and military equipment along the front lines.

Riyadh and Sanaa

Saudi air defenses announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh.

Following the attack, the coalition announced the destruction of two missile launch platforms in Sanaa, one of which had been used to launch the missile toward the Saudi capital, reaffirming its continued efforts to dismantle the Houthi missile network.

These developments follow a widespread wave of Houthi attacks, including the launch of ballistic missiles and drones toward the Kingdom, which were intercepted by Saudi air defenses.

Houthi attacks also extended inside Yemen, with missiles targeting villages, residential areas, and sites sheltering displaced people, increasing the risks faced by civilians.

Yemen's Front Lines

Coalition operations extended to Houthi supply lines connecting areas under their control, as well as their fortifications, troop concentrations, and military equipment along the lines of contact.

The fronts in Taiz, Marib, and Lahj remain among the main areas of confrontation between government forces and the Houthis, while government forces continue operations to consolidate their positions and repel attacks.

Targeting the Sources of the Threat

The significance of the new operation lies in targeting the entire chain of Houthi missile capabilities, from storage and launch systems to supply lines and fortifications.

If these operations succeed in continuously disrupting the network, they could reduce the Houthis' ability to carry out repeated attacks. However, their overall impact will depend on the size of alternative stockpiles and the ability to rebuild launch platforms.

The coalition has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing military measures to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
