Operation “Dawn of Yemen” entered its fifteenth day amid expanding ground and air operations against the Houthis and renewed confrontations in Taiz and along the western coast, as efforts continue to reinforce recaptured positions and secure strategic routes.
Military Developments
Bab Al-Mandab: The Giants Brigades and Nation's Shield Forces advanced along the Dhubab front, with field sources reporting their capture of Tabbat Al-Ardi. Clashes continued around the Shaab Al-Jinn military camp, while airstrikes targeted Houthi positions in Jabal Al-Nar, east of Mokha.
Taiz: Fighting resumed on the Al-Shaqab front southeast of the city, coinciding with Houthi shelling of the villages of Al-Shaqab, Kahlan, and Al-Najdah. Fighter jets carried out airstrikes against Houthi positions and reinforcements in Al-Shamayatayn and Al-Wazi'iyah. One strike in the Al-Za'azi area resulted in casualties among Houthi forces.
Marib, Al-Jawf, and Lahj: Government forces continue operations along several fronts, with ongoing strikes against Houthi fortifications and reinforcements aimed at preventing the reorganization of defensive lines and the transfer of reserves between fronts.
Shabwah: Al-Alam military camp came under a missile attack that killed and wounded members of government forces, according to military and medical sources. The attack highlights the importance of strengthening protection for training facilities and military assembly points behind the front lines.
Strategic Assessment
Today's operations reveal the government forces' efforts to expand the confrontation across interconnected fronts, limiting the Houthis' ability to maneuver and move reinforcements.
The Bab Al-Mandab front is particularly significant, as securing its elevated positions and roads strengthens control over the western coast and protects one of the world's most important international maritime routes.
Meanwhile, the missile attacks underscore the need to combine battlefield advances with the protection of military positions behind the front lines.
BETH Assessment
Operation “Dawn of Yemen” enters its third week facing the challenge of translating military advances into stable territorial control while securing recaptured positions and supply routes.
A decisive outcome cannot be achieved through the intensity of strikes alone, but through the Yemeni forces' ability to hold territory, dismantle Houthi offensive capabilities, and prevent them from reestablishing their lines of confrontation.
