Crown Prince Meets Chris Murphy
Saudi-US relations and regional and international developments discussed; meeting brings the Crown Prince together with a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations and Appropriations Committees
Riyadh | BETH
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met in Riyadh today with US Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Appropriations Committees, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Saudi-US relations, as well as regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.
The meeting carries added significance given Murphy’s membership in two key Senate committees — one concerned with foreign policy and the other with appropriations and funding — at a time when the region is witnessing fast-moving developments involving security, energy, Yemen and maritime routes.
The meeting was attended by Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Ambassador to the United States; Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Adviser.
BETH Analysis:
The meeting reflects continued Saudi-US engagement on two parallel tracks: executive coordination and direct communication with Congress on regional and strategic issues.
