Saudi Arabia maintained its position as the world’s leading exporter of dates by value for the fourth consecutive year, according to data from the International Trade Centre, with exports reaching approximately SAR 1.938 billion in 2025.
The achievement reflects the expanding presence of Saudi dates in international markets, with the number of importing countries rising to more than 125, supported by the diversity and quality of Saudi varieties and continued advances in production and export capabilities.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mousa, CEO of the National Center for Palms and Dates, said that integrated efforts between the public and private sectors have contributed to developing supply chains, improving export efficiency, and expanding access to global markets. He also highlighted the role of the “Empowering Saudi Date Exports and Access to Global Markets” initiative in supporting this expansion.
Saudi Arabia’s date production exceeds 1.9 million tonnes annually, while more than 37 million palm trees are cultivated across the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia’s continued global leadership in date exports underscores the sector’s transformation from a traditional agricultural activity into a globally competitive food industry with growing economic value, supporting economic diversification and increasing the agricultural sector’s contribution in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
