Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received two phone calls today, Tuesday, from Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, addressing regional stability and maritime security.

During his call with Al-Burhan, the Crown Prince affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to Sudan’s stability and to preserving its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while supporting efforts that pave the way for comprehensive development and the return of displaced people and refugees to their homes.

In the call with Meloni, the two sides discussed Saudi-Italian relations and ways to further develop them, alongside the latest regional developments. They also stressed the importance of supporting efforts to ensure the security and freedom of navigation through vital waterways, in a way that strengthens regional security and stability.

The two calls place the Saudi position along two parallel tracks: supporting the stability and territorial unity of states, and protecting waterways that are directly linked to regional security and global trade.

Amid developments extending from Sudan and the Red Sea to Bab al-Mandab and Hormuz, these issues are advancing within a broader Saudi diplomatic effort that links political diplomacy with regional security and international maritime navigation.
