Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund Prince Mohammed bin Salman today launched the first vehicles produced by the national automaker Ceer under the name “Exobot,” in a step that moves Saudi Arabia’s automotive project into the stage of an actual market product.

“Exobot” will be offered in sedan and SUV variants, representing the first models in a lineup of seven vehicles that the company plans to launch successively over the next five years, across different sizes and powertrain systems.

The Crown Prince said the launch of Ceer’s first vehicles represents another step toward building a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem and enabling the automotive industry to become a contributor to economic growth by attracting investment, empowering national talent and strengthening the role of the private sector, with the goal of positioning the Kingdom as a regional and global hub for the industry.

All of the company’s models will be produced at the Ceer Industrial Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, within the automotive manufacturing ecosystem the Kingdom is developing. The company says the design and engineering of “Exobot” were carried out locally according to global standards. Ceer has previously announced that its facilities are targeting the start of vehicle production in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Over the coming years, the company aims to build a broad local supply chain. In February, it announced new agreements worth more than SAR 3.7 billion, as part of a strategy targeting the localization of 45% of vehicle materials and components by 2034.

According to announced estimates, Ceer is expected to contribute more than SAR 30 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP by 2034, improve the trade balance by around SAR 79–80 billion, and create about 30,000 direct and indirect jobs.

From Company to Industry

The launch of “Exobot” does not simply mean that Saudi Arabia now has a national automotive brand.

The real significance lies in what stands behind the vehicle:

A factory, suppliers, components, engineering, technology, jobs, a supply chain and a potential export market.
