AMAK Discovers 14 Million Tonnes of Gold and Mineral Resources in Najran

Independent estimate for the Jabal Qarn project identifies gold, silver, copper, and zinc resources as the company prepares to convert its exploration license into a mining license

Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company (AMAK) announced the issuance of the first independent mineral resource estimate for its Jabal Qarn project in the Najran region, revealing approximately 14 million tonnes of mineralized material.

The estimate includes 11.3 million tonnes of resources classified under the international JORC standard, in addition to approximately 2.7 million tonnes of unclassified mineralized material. The classified resources contain around 281,000 ounces of gold and 3.739 million ounces of silver, along with 34,000 tonnes of copper and 118,000 tonnes of zinc.

The classified resources comprise approximately 9.7 million tonnes of polymetallic mineralization at 1.38% copper equivalent, and around 1.5 million tonnes of gold mineralization averaging 1.10 grams per tonne.

AMAK intends to continue exploration drilling to assess extensions of the mineralization both laterally and at greater depths, as well as to explore additional areas within the project boundaries, potentially increasing the resource base in the future.

The company has also begun development-stage studies in preparation for converting the exploration license into a mining license, gradually moving the project from resource definition toward assessing its viability as a mine for development.

Notably, the current estimate follows preliminary studies that had indicated approximately 11 million tonnes, while drilling activities had covered less than 10% of the license area, leaving further potential for resource growth as exploration continues.
