A national conference in Riyadh brings together more than 160 speakers in 50 sessions and meetings to examine the relationship between the Kingdom’s stability, development journey, and future

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior will organize the Security and History Dialogue Conference 2026 from September 6 to 8 at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, under the theme “Our History and Our Future: Security and Prosperity.”

The conference will bring together experts, researchers, and academics from Saudi Arabia and abroad to examine the history of the Saudi state through two interconnected paths: building security and advancing development. It will also highlight the role of stability in the evolution of institutions, the economy, society, and quality of life.

160 Speakers

The conference will feature more than 50 panel discussions, special sessions, and interactive meetings, with the participation of over 160 experts and specialists, alongside more than 30 partner organizations.

The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, Darah, will participate as the conference’s principal partner, while the Royal Commission for Riyadh City will serve as strategic partner. Tuwaiq Academy and the Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Company, Tahakom, will participate as leadership partners.

The diversity of participating organizations reflects the conference’s broad understanding of security. It is not presented as an isolated field operation, but as an integrated system connected to history, identity, technology, urban planning, the economy, and knowledge production.

Security as a Development Partner

The program will examine the Saudi state’s historical journey and its security, developmental, economic, social, and cultural dimensions, alongside citizenship, national identity, awareness, moderation, international relations, and the development of security institutions and capabilities.

The conference will also explore the role of security in supporting investment, creating opportunities, and improving quality of life. It will demonstrate that the relationship between security and development is not limited to protecting projects after their completion, but begins with establishing trust and stability and continues through attracting investment and ensuring business sustainability.

History Through Modern Technology

The conference will present main panel discussions and special dialogues with prominent national figures, in addition to interactive sessions titled “The Security and History Stage.” These sessions will revisit key moments in Saudi history through an interactive narrative involving researchers, young people, and postgraduate students.

The program will also include the “Security Path,” an immersive visual and technological experience tracing the development of Saudi Arabia’s security system, alongside several accompanying artistic events.

These tools will move history beyond written documents and transform it into an interactive learning experience, helping younger generations understand events within their context and recognize the connection between security decisions and the Kingdom’s social and developmental transformations.

An Annual Knowledge Platform

This year’s conference is an extension of the Security and History Dialogue Forum organized by the Ministry of Interior in 2025, with the new edition expanding its academic program, themes, number of participants, and accompanying activities.

This development supports the transformation of the conference into an annual national platform for producing documented knowledge that benefits researchers and future generations, strengthens awareness of the Kingdom’s history, and reinforces national identity and belonging.

The conference does not merely revisit the history of security in the Kingdom; it draws from it an enduring principle of Saudi Arabia’s journey: whenever the sphere of stability expands, the opportunities for development and prosperity expand with it.
