The Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's Twitter account posted on Friday a threat to avenge the killing of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani.

The post carried a statement by Khamenei saying that "revenge is inevitable," once again pledging to take revenge before the first anniversary of the killing of Qassem Soleimani, in a drone attack.

Khamenei wrote on Twitter on December 16: "Those who ordered the killing of General Soleimani, as well as those who carried out it, must be punished. This revenge will inevitably happen at the appropriate time."

Twitter this month removed a tweet by Khamenei saying that American and British-made vaccines were unreliable, and might aim to "pollute other countries."

Twitter did not take any clear immediate action on Khamenei's tweet on Friday.
