Saudia Leads Global Airlines in On-Time Performance
The national carrier ranks first worldwide for on-time arrivals for the third time in 2026, despite the operational pressure of the Hajj and summer travel seasons

Saudia ranked first among global airlines for on-time flight arrivals in July 2026, achieving a rate of 87.24%, according to the monthly report issued by Cirium, a platform specializing in aviation data and analytics.
The national carrier achieved this performance after operating 16,406 flights during the month, one of the busiest travel periods of the year, as Hajj operations coincided with increased demand during the summer holiday season.
The July ranking marks the third time Saudia has secured first place globally in 2026, elevating the achievement from an isolated monthly result to an indicator of operational consistency and the airline’s ability to maintain efficiency under heavy demand.
Cirium measures on-time arrival performance by considering a flight punctual if the aircraft reaches the airport gate within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival time. The metric reflects the efficiency of planning, fleet and crew management, ground handling, and responses to operational variables.
Saudia achieved this result during a month in which the global average for on-time performance declined to 83.55%, as more than 3.4 million scheduled passenger flights operated worldwide amid pressures that included airspace restrictions, summer storms, strikes, and increased travel demand.
BETH Commentary
The significance of first place lies not only in the percentage, but also in achieving it across more than 16,000 flights at the height of two demanding travel seasons. An aircraft arriving on time is the visible outcome; the real achievement lies behind it, within a system that makes thousands of operational decisions before and after takeoff.
When excellence is repeated three times, an on-time arrival is no longer a coincidence; it becomes an operational standard.
