SAUDIA Records the Lowest Complaint Rate
39 complaints per 100,000 passengers in June, with flights, ticketing, and baggage topping the list
Riyadh | BETH
Saudi national airlines received a total of 1,965 passenger complaints filed with the General Authority of Civil Aviation during June 2026.
SAUDIA recorded the lowest complaint rate, with 39 complaints per 100,000 passengers. It resolved 89% of complaints within the required timeframe.
flynas ranked second with 56 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 100% on-time resolution rate. flyadeal followed with 81 complaints per 100,000 passengers and a 99% resolution rate.
Flight-related issues topped the list of complaints, followed by ticketing and baggage services.
Among airports, King Khalid International Airport recorded only 13 complaints, equivalent to 0.4 complaints per 100,000 passengers, resolving all of them within the required timeframe.
Economic Analysis
A lower complaint rate is not merely a service-quality indicator. It also represents economic value for airlines and airports.
Every disruption involving flights, baggage, or ticketing increases compensation and processing costs, consumes staff time, and affects passenger confidence and future travel decisions—particularly in a market experiencing rapid growth in tourism and business travel.
The figures reveal two distinct strengths:
SAUDIA performs best in reducing the occurrence of problems, while flynas and flyadeal lead in resolving complaints promptly after they arise.
This also highlights an opportunity for improvement. SAUDIA’s position as the airline with the lowest complaint rate would become even stronger if its on-time resolution rate rose from 89% to the 99% and 100% levels achieved by its competitors.
From an economic perspective, the most efficient airline is not simply the one that sells the most seats. It is the one that reduces disruption costs, retains passengers, and converts service quality into trust and repeat demand.
In short: fewer complaints reduce costs, while faster resolution protects revenue and reputation.
