Saudi Aramco has awarded Halliburton a multi-year contract to provide integrated well stimulation and completion services in support of Saudi Arabia's unconventional gas development projects, as part of a broader multi-billion-dollar agreement.

Halliburton said the contract forms part of one of the world's largest unconventional gas development programs and includes the deployment of intelligent hydraulic fracturing automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency, digital integration, and execution reliability.

The company also announced plans to expand its investments in local manufacturing, strengthen supply chains, and broaden workforce development programs in the Kingdom, alongside the accelerating development of the Jafurah Basin.

Commentary

The agreement represents more than an expansion of drilling activities.

It signals that the Jafurah project is entering a new phase that requires integrated operating systems, advanced technologies, and long-term strategic partnerships.

It also reflects how Saudi energy projects are evolving beyond resource production toward building a comprehensive industrial ecosystem that integrates technology, local manufacturing, resilient supply chains, and national workforce development.

As development of the Jafurah Basin continues to accelerate, Saudi Arabia is moving closer to establishing itself as one of the world's leading producers of unconventional gas—strengthening energy security, supporting economic diversification, and increasing the value added by energy-related industries.
