Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, launched its daily direct flights between Riyadh and Dubai today, using its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

Flight RX243 departed King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh for Dubai International Airport, while return flight RX244 departed Dubai for Riyadh, according to local time in both cities.

Dubai becomes Riyadh Air’s third inaugural destination, as part of the airline’s strategy to connect the Kingdom with major regional and global hubs while offering an advanced travel experience featuring premium seating, modern entertainment systems, high levels of comfort, and authentic Saudi hospitality.

The new route comes amid growing demand for travel between Riyadh and Dubai, supporting business, tourism, and economic ties between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Riyadh Air recently received four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft during June as part of its expansion plans, which aim to connect the airline to 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.

The launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Dubai represents more than the addition of another destination; it reflects a broader ambition to build a global aviation network from the Kingdom.

Air connectivity is no longer merely a means of transportation. It has become a key factor in competing for tourism, investment, business, and logistics services.

Choosing Dubai among Riyadh Air’s first destinations highlights the importance of one of the region’s busiest air corridors and underscores the growing economic integration and passenger traffic between two of the Gulf’s leading business and tourism centers.

With plans to reach 100 destinations by 2030, Riyadh Air appears to be doing more than launching a new airline. It is seeking to build a global network that reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing position on the international aviation and travel map.
