Riyadh Expands Its Arteries

Construction has begun on the northern section of Othman Bin Affan Road in Riyadh, a major infrastructure project that includes the construction of seven bridges, the redevelopment of the King Salman Road intersection and the Anas Bin Malik Road intersection, as well as new pedestrian pathways and a dedicated cycling track.

The project extends over 4.3 kilometers and is designed to accommodate up to 500,000 vehicles per day.

What Does This Mean?

This is not simply a road expansion project.

It reflects Riyadh’s continued preparation for rapid population and economic growth, while strengthening infrastructure as a key driver of mobility, investment, and quality of life.

Who Benefits?

  • Residents of northern Riyadh.
  • Businesses and service providers.
  • Commercial and real estate developments surrounding the project.
  • Daily commuters.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists.

An Opportunity Taking Shape

Major transportation projects do more than reduce travel times.

They increase the attractiveness of surrounding areas for investment, support commercial activity, and improve the overall efficiency of urban mobility.

What Should We Watch?

The most important indicator is not the number of bridges or the length of the road.

Rather, it is the scale of urban and economic growth that will emerge around the project in the years ahead.

Every new road does more than connect two locations...

It opens new pathways for development.
