The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, congratulated the Saudi people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, praying that it may bring goodness, peace, and stability to the Islamic world and humanity at large.

In a post on his official account on منصة “X”, King Salman said:

“We thank Almighty God for honoring us with serving the Two Holy Mosques and caring for the pilgrims of His Sacred House, asking Allah to accept their Hajj, rituals, and acts of worship.”

He added:

“With the arrival of Eid Al-Adha, we congratulate our people in this blessed nation and our Islamic nation on this occasion, and pray that Allah makes it a celebration of الخير والسلام والاستقرار for our nation and the world.”

He concluded his message by saying:

“Wishing you all a blessed year ahead.”

Under the supervision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with direct follow-up from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, pilgrims continue performing Hajj rituals amid an integrated operational system and extensive security, health, and service support.

Overview

Pilgrims began arriving at the Jamarat facility in Mina at dawn on Wednesday, the first day of Eid Al-Adha, to perform the ritual of stoning Jamrat Al-Aqaba, amid highly smooth crowd movement and precise field organization supported by extensive security, service, and healthcare resources.

At the same time, the courtyards and corridors of the Grand Mosque were filled with pilgrims from the early hours of the morning as they performed Tawaf Al-Ifadah in a spiritual atmosphere marked by security and tranquility, supported by a fully integrated crowd-management and service system.

Authorities implemented precise crowd-flow plans, including multiple designated routes distributing pilgrims across the different levels of the Jamarat facility to reduce congestion and ensure smooth movement through an advanced engineering system connected to pedestrian bridges, the Al-Mashaer Train, and the surrounding Mina camps.

The Jamarat Bridge and its entrances and exits witnessed a wide deployment of security, medical, emergency, and civil defense teams, alongside officers responsible for organizing pilgrim movement and monitoring the flow between different routes.

Emergency medical services and field clinics were also provided around the clock to ensure rapid response to urgent cases and maintain high-quality care for the pilgrims.

Pilgrim movement inside Mina was characterized by gradual and organized flow according to carefully designed dispatching plans. After stoning Jamrat Al-Aqaba, pilgrims continue the rituals of the Day of Sacrifice, including animal sacrifice, shaving or trimming hair, and Tawaf Al-Ifadah.

Pilgrims later head to Makkah to perform Tawaf Al-Ifadah before returning to Mina to spend the Days of Tashreeq, during which they perform the stoning of the three Jamarat, before concluding their spiritual journey with Tawaf Al-Wada around the Holy Kaaba.

Saudi authorities announced that more than 1.7 million pilgrims are participating in this year’s Hajj season, including approximately 1.54 million pilgrims arriving from 165 countries around the world.

B Analysis

What is unfolding in the holy sites is no longer merely the management of a Hajj season.

It has become a global model for managing:
crowds,
security,
healthcare,
services,
and transportation,
within a limited geographical space and under extremely sensitive timing.

The scene reflects the remarkable transformation Saudi Arabia has achieved in managing one of the world’s most complex human and logistical operations through a combination of:
technology,
artificial intelligence,
engineering planning,
and advanced security and healthcare readiness.

And deep down,
the success of Hajj is not measured only by the number of pilgrims,
but by the system’s ability to transform this massive human movement into a safe, organized, and calm experience managed with high efficiency despite the scale and complexity involved.
