Introduction
In a move that reflects the strength of the Saudi economy and its growing role in shaping the global economic landscape, the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, approved the Fund’s strategy for the period 2026–2030. The new strategy represents a transformative phase aimed at maximizing sustainable value and enhancing economic impact both domestically and internationally, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The new strategy marks a natural progression in the Fund’s journey, transitioning from a phase of growth and expansion to one focused on sustainable value creation and maximizing economic impact. It emphasizes improving investment efficiency, applying the highest standards of governance and transparency, and strengthening the role of the private sector as a key partner in sustainable development.
PIF’s investments under the 2026–2030 strategy are structured across three main portfolios:
1. Vision Portfolio
This portfolio aims to enhance integration among priority strategic sectors through the development of six integrated economic ecosystems, including:
- Tourism, Travel, and Entertainment
- Urban Development and City Building
- Advanced Industries and Innovation
- Industry and Logistics Services
- Clean and Renewable Energy and Water Infrastructure
- NEOM
2. Strategic Investments Portfolio
This portfolio focuses on managing and maximizing returns from strategic assets, increasing the economic impact of PIF companies, and supporting their transformation into globally leading enterprises, while attracting both local and international investments.
3. Financial Investments Portfolio
This portfolio seeks to generate sustainable financial returns through direct and indirect investments in global markets. It aims to enhance the diversification and resilience of the Fund’s portfolio while supporting the growth of national wealth for future generations.
His Excellency Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund, affirmed that the new strategy represents a natural evolution in the Fund’s growth trajectory. He highlighted that, within less than a decade, PIF has launched unprecedented mega and real estate projects and made strategic investments in sectors such as artificial intelligence, gaming, and renewable energy. He also noted that the Fund has increased its assets under management sixfold during this period.
