Saudi Air Defenses Confront Iranian Missiles and Drones

Amid the ongoing military escalation in the region, as the confrontation between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other enters its eleventh day, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the success of air defense systems in intercepting and destroying several aerial threats targeting locations inside the Kingdom.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed that air defense forces dealt efficiently with ballistic missiles and drones that were heading toward strategic locations, where they were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets.

These developments come in the context of escalating regional tensions and the growing security challenges they impose on the airspace of the region.

Intercepting Ballistic Missiles

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that three ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base were intercepted and destroyed.

Drone Shot Down in the Eastern Province

Al-Maliki also announced that a drone was intercepted and destroyed in the Eastern Province after being detected and tracked.

Drone Intercepted Heading Toward Shaybah Oil Field

In another incident, the official spokesman explained that a drone was intercepted and destroyed in the Empty Quarter while heading toward the Shaybah oil field.

Three Drones Intercepted in the Eastern Province
