Saudi Industrial Output Rises 8.9% YoY

Saudi Arabia’s Industrial Production Index recorded a year-on-year increase of 8.9%, supported by growth in mining and quarrying, manufacturing, as well as water supply, sewerage and waste management activities.
According to the General Authority for Statistics’ industrial production bulletin for December 2025, the sub-index for mining and quarrying rose by 13.2% year-on-year, while manufacturing increased by 3.2%, and water supply, sewerage and waste management rose by 9.4%. In contrast, the sub-index for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply declined by 2.5%.
By main economic activities, the index of oil-related activities increased by 10.1%, while non-oil activities rose by 5.8% year-on-year, reflecting continued improvement in industrial performance and diversification of growth drivers.
The Industrial Production Index measures changes in industrial output volumes based on the Industrial Production Survey, covering establishments operating in mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity and gas supply, and water, sewerage and waste management activities. Data are classified in line with the national industrial classification (ISIC Rev.4) and published on a monthly basis using approved statistical methodologies.
