Prince of Qassim Launches Al-Aqilat Journey

Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, launched the Al-Aqilat Heritage Journey, led by Abdulatif Al-Wuhaibi, departing from Al-Jardah Market in Buraidah toward the Hail region, as part of efforts to revive Qassim’s historical legacy and strengthen cultural identity linked to the history of Al-Aqilat and their economic and social role.
The Governor emphasized that the Al-Aqilat journey represents profound historical and cultural value, reflecting an important chapter in the history of Qassim and the Kingdom. He noted that Al-Aqilat symbolized perseverance, hard work, and trade, and played a key role in building economic and social ties across multiple regions.
Prince Faisal stated that the journey recalls a bright page from the history of ancestors, highlighting their courage, patience, and wisdom in pursuing livelihoods and building bridges of communication between regions.
He added that supporting heritage initiatives aligns with the wise leadership’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage, strengthening national identity, promoting cultural tourism, and linking the Kingdom’s rich past with its prosperous present.
For his part, journey leader Abdulatif Al-Wuhaibi expressed his appreciation for the Governor’s support, affirming that the initiative aims to showcase the history of Al-Aqilat and introduce society—especially younger generations—to their values and significance in the region’s history.
The Al-Aqilat Journey is considered one of the key heritage initiatives that highlight Qassim’s historical depth, reinforce its cultural and tourism presence, and promote traditional heritage as an active component of cultural development.
