His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and General Supervisor of the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness for Hajj, Umrah and Visit, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, launched the second phase of the Umrah Awareness Program, implemented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness for Hajj, Umrah and Visit. The phase began on 21/7/1447 AH and will continue until the end of the Umrah season for the current year, with the implementation of 18,863,500 advocacy and awareness services, bringing the total services delivered during the current year to 29,351,900 advocacy and awareness services for Umrah performers, according to the approved statistics at all Umrah service locations in the Makkah and Madinah regions.

In detail, this comes as part of intensifying advocacy and guidance efforts directed at Umrah performers and visitors, improving the quality of religious services provided to them, and promoting the methodology of moderation and balance. The awareness programs launched by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh in the second phase of the Umrah season include responding to 400,000 calls via the toll-free hotline, implementing 13,500 diverse advocacy programs including lessons, lectures, and talks, responding to 150,000 religious inquiries and consultations, and distributing 300,000 guidance books and publications.

As part of the Ministry’s technical efforts to serve Umrah performers, 6,000,000 electronic messages will be broadcast via display screens, in addition to sending 12,000,000 guidance SMS messages to Umrah performers’ mobile phones in multiple global languages.

This launch comes as an extension of the great support and care provided by the wise leadership — may God support it — in serving the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, and within the efforts of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, under the supervision and follow-up of His Excellency the Minister, to maximize advocacy impact, develop the religious awareness system, and achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in enhancing religious services at Umrah and visitor locations in the Makkah and Madinah regions.
