Dammam, Jan 4 (BETH) – Saudi Aramco said on Sunday it will begin supplying 98-octane gasoline in the domestic market during January 2026, following guidance from the Ministry of Energy on local market requirements.

The state energy company said the move aims to expand fuel options for consumers and diversify its product portfolio without affecting existing fuel grades currently available in the market.

In an initial phase, the higher-octane fuel will be offered in Riyadh, Jeddah, the Dammam metropolitan area, and the highways linking these cities, where most sports vehicles and high-performance engines that require higher-octane fuel are concentrated. Aramco said it would assess a wider rollout after reviewing demand levels.

The company said the new product is designed for sports cars and high-performance engines that require a higher octane rating.

Aramco added that the price of 98-octane gasoline will be published on its website under retail fuel sales at the time of launch and will be reviewed periodically in line with the Kingdom’s approved energy and water price adjustment governance procedures.
