Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal Launches Robotic Surgery Operations for the First Time in Qassim

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim, inaugurated today the first robotic surgery operations at King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mousa Al-Harbi, CEO of Qassim Health Cluster, Dr. Majed Al-Radaini, Director of the hospital, and the hospital’s medical team.

Prince Faisal praised the introduction of robotic surgical technology, highlighting the rapid development of specialized healthcare services in the region. He emphasized that this advanced technology reflects the leadership’s commitment – may God protect them – to enhancing healthcare services and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in improving quality of life.

The Emir noted that robotic surgery represents a significant leap in surgical interventions, offering high precision, reduced complications, faster patient recovery, and the ability to reach areas difficult to access with traditional surgical methods.

Dr. Mousa Al-Harbi explained the advantages of robotic surgery, noting that it expands the hospital’s capabilities in performing specialized procedures across multiple disciplines, including colorectal, urology, obesity, oncology, and hernia surgeries, among others. He added that this initiative aligns with plans to develop medical services, attract advanced technologies, and enhance healthcare performance for patient safety and well-being.
