Al Khobar Concludes 2025 with Over 111 Development Projects

Enhancing Quality of Life and Strengthening Its Position as a Livable and Investment-Attractive City

Al Khobar Governorate concluded the year 2025 with the implementation of more than 111 development projects and programs, covering urban development, road upgrades, parks, humanization projects, and comprehensive infrastructure works, aimed at enhancing quality of life and reinforcing Al Khobar’s position as a key tourism destination and an influential economic hub.

The Mayor of Al Khobar Governorate, Eng. Mishaal bin Al-Humaidi Al-Wahbi, revealed that these projects have transformed the city into a fully integrated development workshop that clearly meets the needs of citizens and residents, enhances well-being and happiness, and strengthens Al Khobar’s status as a preferred city to live and work in.

 

 Major Upgrade to the Road Network

The municipality completed the development of 25 main and arterial roads with a total length exceeding 54.3 kilometers, including key routes such as:

King Fahd Road

North and South Corniche Roads

King Salman Road

King Khalid Road

King Abdullah Road

King Faisal Road

Prince Turki Road

Prince Sultan Road

These projects significantly improved traffic efficiency and road safety in line with international standards.

 

 Comprehensive Neighborhood Development

Development works were completed in several neighborhoods, including:

Al-Hada

Al-Bandariyah

Workers City

Al-Aqrabiyah

Parts of Al-Jisr

Al-Hamra

Al-Olayya

Industrial areas

Work is ongoing in Al-Thuqbah and South Al Khobar.

 

 Humanization & Urban Enhancement Projects

During 2025, the municipality completed the humanization of 12 major streets, while work continues on 12 additional sites with a total length exceeding 18 kilometers, aimed at improving walkability, urban spaces, and overall livability.

 

 Parks & Walking Tracks

افتتاح 3 new parks in Al-Shira’a, Al-Tahliyah, and Al-Bahr neighborhoods

Development of modern walking tracks, including:

King Salman Walking Track (2.3 km)

Al-Aziziyah Walking Track (2 km)

Launch of Al-Rakah Walking Track development (2.7 km)

 

 Waterfront & Corniche Development

Ongoing development of the waterfront area over 265,000 sqm

Upgrading the South Al Khobar Corniche

Launching the Sadfa Corniche extension project (2 km), bringing the total corniche length to approximately 2.95 km

 

 Traffic Flow Improvement

As part of the traffic flow optimization program:

16 traffic signals were removed

25 U-turn points were introduced
This significantly improved traffic smoothness on main roads.

 

 Landmarks & Identity

The municipality inaugurated the “Unity of a Nation” monument, documenting the milestones of King Abdulaziz’s journey to unify the Kingdom, covering an area of 2,184 sqm, located at the intersection of King Abdullah Road and Prince Turki Road.

 

 Ongoing Vision

Eng. Al-Wahbi affirmed that Al Khobar Municipality will continue implementing sustainable development projects that enhance quality of life and reinforce the city’s position as a leading tourism and investment destination, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
