Ministry of Sports Organizes “Tech Solutions Alignment in the Sports Sector” in Partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

The Ministry of Sports, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, held today (Monday, 1 December 2025) the “Tech Solutions Alignment in the Sports Sector” event, as part of the third phase of the “Accelerating the Adoption of Emerging Technologies in Sports” program.
The event took place at the ministry’s headquarters in Al-Malaz, Riyadh, with the participation of 23 sports entities and 22 technology companies, and in the presence of the ministry’s Deputy for Digital Transformation, Eng. Khalid Al-Ghalaiga.

Focus on Future Technologies

The event highlighted the current digital landscape of the sports sector and the key technologies that the Kingdom will prioritize in the upcoming phase, especially as it prepares to host major global sports events.
The key technologies presented included:

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Internet of Things (IoT)

Crowd management systems

Digital fan experiences

Big data analytics

Smart training technologies

Advanced solutions to enhance sports facility readiness

A Convergence Workshop Connecting Sports and Technology

The program reviewed the initiative’s objectives and its future roadmap, with emphasis on convergence workshops that brought together sports entities with local and international tech companies to showcase practical solutions to the sector’s challenges.

The workshops focused on achieving two main goals:

Connecting sports entities directly with tech companies to explore collaboration opportunities.

Aligning sports-sector challenges with advanced technological solutions that support athletes’ journeys, empower talent, enhance platforms and facilities, and improve the fan experience.

Global Participation in Advancing Sports Digital Transformation

The event witnessed the participation of leading global and local technology companies, which presented the latest solutions aimed at elevating the readiness of Saudi Arabia’s sports sector.

The Ministry of Sports continues to advance digital maturity and enhance the sector’s capability to adopt modern technologies in line with Saudi Vision 2030, strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional and global sports hub.
