Completion of Development and Humanization of 13 Streets in Al-Khobar

The Municipality of Al-Khobar has completed the development and humanization of 13 streets as part of the first phase of the Al-Khobar Humanization Project, which encompasses the improvement of 24 streets. The initiative aims to enhance quality of life and improve the urban environment, making the city more human-friendly and environmentally sustainable, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Eng. Mishal bin Al-Hamidi Al-Wehbi, Mayor of Al-Khobar, explained that the completed works fall within a comprehensive program that includes the development and humanization of 24 locations spanning 46 kilometers. The project features 73 kilometers of pedestrian sidewalks and 26 kilometers of cycling lanes, emphasizing the human-centered approach in street design, aesthetic and functional integration, and meeting the needs of all community groups, including people with disabilities and the elderly. The initiative contributes to improving the urban landscape and creating a healthy, sustainable environment.

The streets developed in this phase include:
Prince Turki Road, Prince Fahd bin Salman Street, Prince Jalawi Street, Abdulqader Al-Muhaidib Street, Street 21 in Al-Ulaya district, Bashar bin Burd Street in Al-Ulaya district, Street 22 in Al-Aqrabiyah district, Street 18 in Al-Yarmouk district, Street 18 in Al-Bustan district, Second Street in the Corniche district, Third Street in the Corniche district, and Al-Shifa Street in Al-Hizam Al-Dhahabi district.

The works include connecting road segments, constructing wide pedestrian sidewalks, green areas, shade trees, decorative lighting, safe pedestrian crossings, seating areas, directional signage, and dedicated cycling tracks. These enhancements increase the appeal of streets that host commercial and tourism facilities and contribute to higher quality of life in residential neighborhoods by improving mobility, accessibility, and overall urban identity in Al-Khobar.
