French Driver Sébastien Ogier Snatches the World Rally Championship Title in Jeddah

The final round of the World Rally Championship (WRC), “Saudi Rally 2025 – Supported by Jameel Motorsports”, concluded today, Saturday, 29 November 2025. The event, hosted for the first time in the Kingdom, was held in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation and Chairman of Saudi Motorsport Company, and His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah. The global event is supervised by the Ministry of Sports and organized by the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation, with marketing by Saudi Motorsport Company.

French champion Sébastien Ogier, driver for Toyota Gazoo Racing, was crowned the 2025 World Rally Champion, securing first place with 293 points. His teammate, Britain’s Elfyn Evans, came second with 289 points, while Finland’s Kalle Rovanperä finished third with 256 points. Ogier clinched the title in the final meters of the Dahaban 2 (Power Stage).

In the WRC2 category, Sweden’s Oliver Solberg of Toyota Gazoo Racing claimed the title, with France’s Yohann Rossel finishing second and Bulgaria’s Nikolay Gryazin placing third.
In the WRC3 category, Italy’s Matteo Fontana took the championship, followed by Australia’s Taylor Gill in second place and France’s Giovanni Rossi in third.

The final round witnessed intense competition over four days, during which drivers completed 17 stages covering a total distance of 1,218 km, including 319 km of special stages. Belgium’s Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) topped the overall classification for the round with consistent performance, followed by France’s Adrien Fourmaux in second place and World Champion Sébastien Ogier in third.

After his victory, Sébastien Ogier said:
"I am very happy to win the title. It was a tough battle with Evans and Scott. I thank the team for their support. It was a challenging championship, but we managed to secure it in the final moments."

Ogier added that he intends to compete in next year’s World Rally Championship and fight for the title, noting that he plans to participate in more rounds after missing three events this season. He also pointed out that he has now equaled the historic record of nine championship wins.

La manche finale du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes (WRC), « Rallye d’Arabie Saoudite 2025 – Soutenu par Jameel Motorsports », s’est achevée aujourd’hui, samedi 29 novembre 2025. L’événement, organisé pour la première fois dans le Royaume, s’est tenu en présence de Son Altesse Royale le Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al Faisal, Président de la Fédération Saoudienne d’Automobile et de Motocyclisme et Président de Saudi Motorsport Company, ainsi que de Son Altesse le Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Gouverneur de Djeddah. La compétition mondiale est supervisée par le Ministère des Sports et organisée par la Fédération Saoudienne d’Automobile et de Motocyclisme, avec la commercialisation assurée par Saudi Motorsport Company.

Le champion français Sébastien Ogier, pilote de Toyota Gazoo Racing, a été sacré Champion du Monde des Rallyes 2025, remportant la première place avec 293 points. La manche finale a enregistré une compétition intense durant quatre jours, au cours desquels les pilotes ont parcouru 17 spéciales pour une distance totale de 1 218 km, dont 319 km de spéciales chronométrées. Le Belge Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a dominé le classement général de la manche grâce à une performance régulière, suivi du Français Adrien Fourmaux en deuxième position, et du champion du monde Sébastien Ogier en troisième.

Après son sacre, Sébastien Ogier a déclaré :
« Je suis très heureux de remporter ce titre. La compétition avec Evans et Scott a été intense. Je remercie l’équipe pour son soutien. Le championnat a été difficile, mais nous avons réussi à le décrocher dans les derniers instants. »

Ogier a ajouté qu’il envisage de participer au Championnat du Monde des Rallyes l’année prochaine et de se battre pour le titre, précisant qu’il compte prendre part à davantage de manches après avoir manqué trois épreuves cette saison. Il a également souligné qu’il venait d’égaler le record historique de neuf titres remportés.

L’accueil par l’Arabie Saoudite de la manche finale du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes « Rallye d’Arabie Saoudite 2025 » illustre la position croissante du Royaume sur la carte sportive mondiale et témoigne du soutien de sa direction aux grands événements internationaux.
