Research Partnership Between Eastern Province Municipality and KFUPM to Advance Investment and Development Projects

His Excellency Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir, Mayor of the Eastern Province, received today a team from the Applied Research Center at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) to discuss ways of expanding cooperation and leveraging the Center’s expertise in enhancing investment and development projects.
The meeting also addressed strengthening alignment with the Center’s research outputs covering land, marine, environmental, and traffic management studies, in the presence of Eng. Hamdan bin Ouda Al-Aradi, Assistant Mayor for Investments, at the Municipality’s headquarters in Dammam.

The Center is recognized as one of the leading national research institutions, providing specialized studies that support decision-makers and improve project efficiency and implementation quality.
This cooperation is expected to have a tangible impact on enhancing the municipal project ecosystem, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes tourism, entertainment, environmental sustainability, and quality of life in Saudi cities.

The initiative extends the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to build strategic partnerships with academic, research, and operational entities, fostering collaborative urban development and advancing the municipal investment industry to achieve sustainable growth.

Through these partnerships, the Municipality seeks to enhance the investment environment, attract leading investors from within and outside the Kingdom, and contribute to economic diversification and competitiveness across the Eastern Province.

This cooperation comes amid a major transformation in regional investments, with projects exceeding SAR 30 billion, aligned with Vision 2030’s pillars of an ambitious nation, a vibrant society, and a thriving economy.
