His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Rou’a Al-Haram Al-Makki Company,
announced the launch of the “King Salman Gateway” project — a multi-use urban destination adjacent to the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

Spanning a total built-up area of 12 million square meters, the project represents a transformational leap in the development of Makkah’s infrastructure and central zone,
setting a global benchmark for urban design that harmonizes spirituality, culture, and modern living.

The project aims to enhance the experience of visitors and pilgrims by providing world-class services and facilities,
in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and its Pilgrim Experience Program, one of the Kingdom’s flagship national initiatives.

Strategically located beside the Grand Mosque, King Salman Gateway is designed as a harmonious blend of Makkah’s rich architectural heritage and contemporary lifestyle.
It will accommodate up to 900,000 worshippers within its internal prayer areas and external courtyards,
and will be fully connected to Makkah’s public transport networks for seamless access to the Holy Mosque.

The project also seeks to preserve and revive Makkah’s cultural identity,
through the restoration and redevelopment of nearly 19,000 square meters of heritage sites,
offering visitors an immersive spiritual and cultural journey that bridges the sacred and the modern.

By 2036, the project is expected to create more than 300,000 new jobs,
supporting the Kingdom’s economic diversification and sustainable development goals.

The development is led by Rou’a Al-Haram Al-Makki Company,
a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF),
serving as the key driver for urban transformation around the Holy Mosque.
The company focuses on sustainable resource management, innovative solutions,
and delivering an exceptional experience for residents, pilgrims, and visitors —
while safeguarding Makkah’s spiritual and cultural legacy.
