Saudi Dakar Rally 2021 opens - Saturday

On behalf of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Prince Mishaal bin Majid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah, will inaugurate the Saudi Dakar Rally 2021 in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, on Saturday, in the presence of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, and the Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation.

The opening ceremony comes after the completion of the technical and technical examination phase, which lasted for two days, during which the organizers examined the vehicles participating in the race to ensure their compliance with the conditions.

The Kingdom hosted the Dakar Rally last January for the first time in the Asian continent, where the ancient race continues in the Kingdom for ten successive editions, as the first edition witnessed the participation of 342 competitors from 68 countries in five categories over a period of 13 days, and a span of about 7500 km from The Kingdom's desert and its historical terrain.
