Manga Productions, a subsidiary of Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk”, officially launched Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds today across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam. The release comes under a strategic partnership with SEGA, with Manga Productions leading publishing and marketing across the Middle East and North Africa, while enabling Saudi talent to participate in the process.

Pre-launch showcase in Riyadh

Earlier this week, Manga Productions hosted an exclusive pre-launch event at Twisted Labs: Boulevard City, where gaming creators, influencers, and media had the chance to test the game. Live challenges highlighted the competitive edge of the title, boosting awareness and positioning it as one of the region’s most anticipated racing releases of the year.

A next-generation racing experience

Developed by SEGA’s arcade racing team, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds introduces dynamic track design, where players warp into a new world on the second lap of each race, keeping every race unpredictable.

Characters: 23 available at launch, with more coming via updates — including Hatsune Miku, Joker (Persona 5 Royal), Ichiban Kasuga (Like a Dragon), and even crossover icons like Minecraft and SpongeBob.

Customization: Over 70 unique “Gadgets” allow for tailored racing strategies.

Multiplayer: Online cross-play supports up to 12 players in competitive modes.

Empowering Saudi talent

Eng. Abdulaziz Alnaghmoosh, Director of Business Development & Content Licensing at Manga Productions, commented:

“This launch is a key milestone in reinforcing the Kingdom’s role as a leading regional hub for gaming. It reflects our commitment to the creative economy through high-caliber partnerships, while empowering Saudi youth to take part in publishing and distribution, cultivating a new generation of industry leaders.”
