The idea was launched in March 2017, at which time the body responsible for sports in Saudi Arabia, the “General Sports Authority,” announced the privatization of 14 Saudi clubs within 3 years, with the privatization to begin with five clubs within months, then 3 to 5 clubs annually.
In September 2020 AD, the Saudi Ministry of Sports launched a public survey for the "Sports Clubs and Academies Licensing Regulations" project, to obtain the opinion of those interested in this aspect and the specialists in the Kingdom on this project, the details of which the Ministry will announce in the coming period.
After this sequence in preparing investment in sports clubs, the decision comes in the Ministry of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
Certainly, there will be controls and follow-up for the most important sporting activities in the Kingdom.
